Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken
Low Country mustard-based barbecue is an easy alternative to the popular Kansas City style.
Yield: 4 servings Cook Time: 7 hours
4 boneless chicken breasts
One 18-ounce bottle barbecue sauce, or 2 cups homemade
1 cup honey mustard
Add the ingredients to a lined slow cooker and cook for 6 hours on low. Remove and shred the chicken, and return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
BBQ Root Beer Chicken
When I was growing up, drinking root beer was a special treat. My parents would take me to the A&W drive-in and order a big frosty mug, which we’d guzzle in the car along with a few burgers. The point is—root beer is delicious and it makes a great base for this sweet BBQ chicken recipe. Shred the chicken, heap it onto a roll, and enjoy!
Yield: 4 servings Cook Time: 6 hours
4 chicken breasts
One 18-ounce bottle barbecue sauce
One 12-ounce can root beer
Squeeze of lime
Add the chicken, barbecue sauce, and root beer to a lined slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours or until the chicken shreds easily with a fork. Add a squeeze of lime and serve!
